A Sneak Peak at Our Cold Process Soaps

Welcome to the world of cold process soaps

A time-tested technique that traces back to around 2800 BC in ancient Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

Cold process soap requires formulating at room temperature by mixing oils, water, botanicals and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to create a chemical reaction called saponification. We let the soap cure for six weeks; this way the bar becomes dry, firm, and mild and the lye becomes non-existent in the finished bar.

Most commercial soaps are detergents, that are high on the alkaline side of the PH scale. They contain lathering agents to make them act like soap and but usually have offensive ingredients - which is always best to avoid long-term.

At Ancient Meridian, our handmade soaps don't contain any harsh chemicals or artificial dyes, so you can trust that what is being absorbed into your skin, is all-natural. Our Soap creates incredible lather and is superfatted to allow a truly luxurious bathing experience.
